The artistic career of Mariano Rubio (Calatayud, 1926) is characterised by a total coherence that arises from his attachment to the Renaissance ideals of Leonardo, which are fully applied to his pictorial and graphic production. His work is highly elaborate, far from chance solutions, balanced yet unbalancing as regards tradition, and it is also the source of new feelings and thoughts for the viewer.
