THE MAGICAL LIGHT OF ENTHRALLING OBJECTS: SANTA & COLE LAMPS
The art of good taste

Since its founding in 1985, the firm Santa & Cole, Ediciones de Diseño SA, has been cultivating the art of good taste, consisting in the application of quality design to everyday objects—primarily furnishings and lighting fixtures—in pursuit of the best possible user experience. In its work, Santa & Cole follows a philosophy of taste that is more modern than futuristic and which—connecting with the ideas of the Bauhaus—makes an ethic of the three-fold requirement of constructive solidity, aesthetic sobriety and functional quality.

This philosophy and ongoing work with a host of excellent designers, who are the creators of the objects that Santa & Cole puts out, have made the company a standard-bearer of fine Spanish design throughout the world.
We find two examples of the brand’s excellence and continuity in the legendary lamp Cesta, created by Miguel Milà in 1961, and the BlancoWhite illuminated shelves, designed by Antoni Arola in 2011, magical structures lit by LEDs, usable as lamps, tabletop bookcases or luminous shelves.
