Over the last few years Juan Uslé (Santander, 1954) has become one of the best-known exponents of abstract art. His painting, photography and prints have been exhibited in the main European and American museums, like the New Museum of Contemporary Art (New York), the IVAM (Valencia), the MACBA (Barcelona), the Saatchi Gallery (London), and the Museum of Modern Art (Vienna). The National Museum Reina Sofía in Madrid will hold a retrospective exhibition of his art in November of 2003. Uslé was awarded the Premio Nacional de Bellas Artes in 2002. He currently lives and works between New York and Saro (Cantabria).
