About this work:
In the field of still life Ibarz conceives his work as a homage to the Baroque artist Juan Sánchez Cotán. In his own work, fruit, birds and flowers are recurring elements treated with delicacy and tenderness. The exaltation of colour in his works is reminiscent of the Fauves, who subordinated forms to colour. Ibarzs work, in short, bathes the everyday environment that surrounds us in a cheerful and pleasant light.
