After studying Fine Art in Barcelona and Paris, Francesc Torres (Barcelona, 1948) left for the United States in 1972, and in 1974 moved definitively to New York. An experimental artist, who even before then had evolved towards conceptual art, in New York, Torres became a pioneer of installations. He works with sculpture, objets trouvés and video, and uses these media to express his political and social concerns.
