About this work:
Photographs taken during rehearsals for the famous film that Carolos Saura made in 1981, based on a ballet created by Antonio Gades in 1974, which was an adaptation of the play Bodas de sangre by Lorca (premiered in Madrid in 1933). All the emotion and poetic tragedy of love and jealousy - inspired in an event that took place in Almería in 1928 is captured by the photographer in one captivating moment. The dramatic tension of the tale, the softness of the movements, and the incredible aesthetic of space, rhythm and composition are expressed in these amazing images, which have been seen all around the world. It is a miraculous balance between sobriety and passion.Black and white photographs on silver gelatine paper.
